Bank Closing

TD Bank is closing dozens of branches across the country as part of a corporate restructuring plan. The bank, which was founded in Canada, will shut down at least 38 locations nationwide, including several in Massachusetts. “As part of our ongoing strategic and business-as-usual reviews of TD’s retail locations, we evaluate factors such as store traffic, customer needs, product use, and community landscape to determine necessary changes to our physical network,” a TD Bank representative said.

“We are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible for our impacted customers and colleagues and look forward to continuing to provide legendary service via one of our approximately 1,100 stores or any channel our customers choose.”

The closures include:

Connecticut: 1289 Foxon Road, North Branford; 215 High St., Torrington

District of Columbia: 1611 Wisconsin Ave. N.W.

Florida: 1590 South Nova Road, Daytona Beach; 160 N.W. Main Blvd., Lake City; 500 Collins Ave., Miami Beach

In October, it was revealed that TD Bank allowed more than $18 trillion in payments to go unmonitored, enabling the laundering of more than $670 million between 2019 and 2023. For impacted customers, TD Bank advises looking for another local branch or exploring one of their other service channels.
