Health Alliance to cease plans in 2026

Health Alliance

Health Alliance

FirstCarolinaCare, a subsidiary of Carle Health, will discontinue all insurance plans except Medicare Advantage starting January 1, 2026. The company, based in Southern Pines, North Carolina, recently relocated its operations to a new office at 1930 N Poplar St. Health Alliance, another Carle Health subsidiary, will also cease operating all lines of business except Medicare Advantage by the same date.

Both organizations will continue to manage operations to support claims processing and ongoing business needs through the end of 2025. This decision marks a significant shift in the availability of various health insurance plans provided by these companies.

Health Alliance transitioning insurance offerings

Current policyholders will need to seek alternative health insurance providers before the discontinuation date. The specifics behind the decision to narrow their business scope were not disclosed. However, such moves often reflect strategic re-alignments aimed at enhancing operational efficiencies and focusing on more profitable or sustainable sectors.

Affected clients are advised to review alternative insurance options and prepare for a transition to ensure continuous coverage post-2025. Policyholders can reach FirstCarolinaCare at their new office location or contact customer service directly for further inquiries. Clients and stakeholders are encouraged to keep abreast of additional updates and prepare adequately for the upcoming transitions.
